WATCH: Horrifying Moment Thugs Kick Police Officers Who Almost Get KILLED By Passing Traffic

More than the violence that was captured, it was the lack of apathy from passers-by which shocked the internet. Scores of people avoid the scuffle and walk past the men unleashing the violent attack on the police officer and his female partner.

A shocking video of a policeman and his colleague getting savagely beaten by a gang has gripped the internet. The incident, which was recorded on a mobile phone, shows two police personnel being viciously beaten. More than the violence that was captured, it was the lack of apathy from passers-by which shocked the internet. Scores of people avoid the scuffle and walk past the men unleashing the violent attack on the police officer and his female partner.

According to Daily Mail, the video was filmed in Merton, south-west London, on Saturday night at roughly 7:55 pm. The man recording the violent attack is equally shocked at the violence, commenting on how confidently the two thugs attacked the police officers. One of the hooded men grabs the officer and drags him away from his car while pummeling him aggressively. His accomplice takes off in one direction, while the female police officer rushes to her partner's aid.

Despite the offender's violent attack, the female officer makes a brave move to help her partner by attempting to pull the assaulter off him. But soon, the unknown thug's partner runs back and fly-kicks the female officer to the ground. A bus narrowly misses her head after she falls to the ground, without stopping to help out. Around the scuffling crew, a crowd of passers-by continues on their way without even a glance towards the violence that was unfolding in the middle of the street.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, a brave helmeted Samaritan on a moped runs towards the officers and offers up his brute strength to apprehend the two thugs. The unknown assailant who fly-kicked the female officer runs off after realizing he was outnumbered. The man in the helmet then helps the officers make their arrest, helping them overpower and cuff the assailant.

According to reports, a 20-year-old man was charged and arrested and charged with obstruction as well as assaulting emergency service workers. The assailant was also charged for driving without a license as well as insurance following the police stop. The accused was asked to appear in Wimbledon Magistrates Court yesterday. However, there is no news yet on how the court case is proceeding with their charges. The assailant's two other accomplices are still at large.

Originally, the video was uploaded on Twitter with the caption: "South London at night... Lol". It received a mixed reaction from the internet, with some people finding it funny, and others criticizing the people silently watching the crime unfold. "Horrendous that no one stopped to help till the very end." said one person. "This is happening Day in Day out all around Britain. This sort of behavior is a result of many factors, continual public criticism of police by politicians+media." said another.

Many other folks are critiquing the car driver for not stepping up and helping out. People called for his arrest for failing to aid an officer of the law after he chose to sit in his car and run a narration of the unfolding scene. "Those cops kept up the fight. The video play-by-play guy should be charged for not assisting," offered one person. "He just sitting in his car not getting out to help 😡" angrily observed another Twitter user.

Violent crimes like shootings and stabbings have increased all over London. Recently, a 75-year-old pensioner was fatally stabbed in Peckham, south-east London. The victim, identified as a Mrs. Maureen Watkins, was attacked by her own son, Edward Watkins, 55. In another shocking incident, a mother-of-five was shot in her front of her children in Ilford, east London.

The victim, who was pregnant at the time, passed away shortly after authorities rushed her to the hospital. Even though the 35-year-old didn't survive, her unborn child was delivered via cesarean and is said to be in a stable condition.
